The UK Government, in all it's (cough) wisdom, has published a draft outlining browser standards that public service sites must adhere to should it be ratified. All seems well and good, until reading the proposal which states that browsers with a market share of less than 2% need not be officially supported.

The government has announced plans to force UK ISPs to curb illegal downloading and may even impose internet bans on such users. Although I have no problem with illegal downloaders being punished, I do have concerns about these plans.

The US Presidential Elections were held yesterday which meant that here in good old Blighty, the results of which States were won by who came in over night. So at bed time yesterday it was neck and neck and my hopes were high for a "President Kerry". Waking up this morning I found many States had gone to the incumbent President George W. Bush - much to my disappointment. In fact, throughout today the election hung on the results of Ohio - the last of the big "swing States" to be announced. By 4pm Senator John Kerry had conceded the presidency meaning Bush has won another 4 years in office.
